DIRECTIONS: When changing the caps on a straight post that has been in use, we suggest removing the electrical black tape at the top of the post (under the cap) and replacing it with new tape. You can put about 4 – 4 ½ wraps of tape around the post. This helps keep the rubber cap securely on the straight post.
The reason for changing the tape is that over time it will compress and will no longer help to keep the rubber cap on the post. When changing out the caps on a straight post that has not been used then you can just simply switch them out.
